ReSiTec has been awarded grants for two new projects in the Horizon 2020 EU program. Both projects will start during 2021 and last for 4 years.

The “Icarus” project aims to demonstrate modular processing solutions at industrial scale to retrieve 95% of high-value raw materials from silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing, through eco-efficient processing, refining, and transformation of industrial silicon, graphite and silica waste streams. The total budget is € 11.9 million, and there are 17 consortium partners.

The “Harare” project will demonstrate sustainable pathways to produce non-ferrous metals using hydrogen as an enabler, for removing waste and valorising materials in carbon free processes. The total budget is € 9.5 million, and there are 10 partners.
